Just wanted to update where I've been this past... year? Still here, and believe it or not I'm cranking away on Donkey! I'm viewing the first 16 pages I posted here as a prototype. After its initial run I realized that I still had a lot i wanted to learn still in regards to comic making, both in art and in writing. As such, I've been studying from the works of Scott McCloud, and am currently delving into the teachings of Will Eisner. I've even been practicing Perspective through David Chelsea's work! I really, really want Donkey to be something special. I want it to be smarter, funnier, and prettier than my initial upload. I want the story to be more cohesive and compelling, I want the art to be more dynamic and interesting. As such the script is currently being rewritten, and in the mean time I've been drawing up concept art for various character designs and locals. You wouldn't believe how much foliage I've invented to make a convincing underground Ecosystem! In other words, my hands haven't been idle. I'll be posting a couple concept pieces with the new, updated art style (Don't worry, the original character designs are in-tact! I just added shading and a different method for backgrounds) and perhaps some of my sketch work.
